Biologist Eli Wyman with one of the only known specimens of Wallace’s Giant Bee (Megachile pluto), which is the world’s largest known bee. This species has only been seen by scientists in the wild on two occasions: Once in the late 1800s by Alexander Russell Wallace, and again in the early 1980s by researcher Adam Messer.
